East Early Childhood Center operates a variety of early childhood education programs. Our programs are operated by the Storm Lake Community School District and by Upper Des Moines Opportunity, a multi-county charitable organization that provides Head Start classes.

The Storm Lake Early Childhood programs operate from 8:15 am-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday following the school district calendar. Each of the 16 classrooms at the center are NAEYC accredited programs and utilize the Creative Curriculum as a basis for best practice and instruction. Developmentally appropriate activities give children a wide range of experiences in the areas of literacy, mathematics, discovery, fine and large motor skills and social skills in order to better prepare them for their elementary school years.
