SUMMER SCHOOL 2023: By the Numbers

Great things are happening at SLHS Summer School!
Students work on conventions of the English language grammar. Namely, they learn about the use of punctuation in different types of sentences. The students are first guessing the names of the punctuation marks looking at the image. Then they connect the image with the term. Once they know the symbol-term connection they start using these punctuation marks in various sentences. They work as a team (pair-work) and use white boards to write their response. Later, they share their answers with the class and the teacher. The white board allows students to discuss and figure out the correct answer. It is as well a great way for students to communicate with each other and peer-coach. Mrs. Pepanyan's class are making great strides! #AmericasSchool

Students in Mr. Swanson's class went to BVU yesterday to look at their incredible collection of taxidermy and live animal specimens. The students were tasked with making high quality observations and inferences about different animals. #SLHSSummerSchool2023 #AmericasSchool
