An Interview with Destiny Brown

Destiny Brown, a senior at Storm Lake High School, wrestled for the Ridge View Raptors girls wrestling team. Throughout her wrestling career Destiny made it to the state wrestling two years, her junior and senior years. Destiny was asked what inspired her to start wrestling to which she responded, “My family. I grew up around it and My brothers wrestled. Also, Kevin Besch, the middle school Physical education teacher.” 

When asked what challenges Destiny faced during her wrestling career she mentioned her mentality, “You must have a good mindset to be a successful wrestler.” Destiny also has some advice for girls who want to join wrestling, “It seems like a scary sport but it really isn’t, you don’t get hurt as often as people think. Your team will become your family.”
